I went down to the 40s footie tonight and just wanted to clarify (for anyone else that might look at these posts) a few things:
1/ there is a $2 play fee per game.
2/ you can sign up for the year
3/ the games are on Monday's & Wednesday's
4/ location is at the track & field off South Sumas Rd
5/ you have to wear a red or white jersey / top as that is how they divide the teams
I spoke to Thomas, the organizer, who said they usually have enough players show for full 11-a-side teams and often enough for subs.
The age group is not just 40's & up. There is quite a good mix of ages.
It seems pretty well organized from what I saw. I didn't play tonight (se below) but will probably go back next Mon or Wed.
Definitely need cleets and shin pads.
Anyway thats what I discovered. Pass it on.
